How we help

Our Café

You’ll find us at 72 North St, Sudbury CO10 1RF, right in the heart of town.

We’re open Tuesdays to Thursdays 9:30am-12:30pm (school term time only).

If you’re struggling with life’s stresses and anxieties (as many are, so you’re not alone), we’re here to listen and offer emotional support and practical advice. You’ll find no judgment, just a friendly and sympathetic ear!

What will you find when you walk through the door?

A warm welcome!

Many who visit describe Number 72 as a kind, friendly and relaxed space in which to unwind. A home from home, even. You can stay for as long as we’re open – chat with others, make new friends, or just sit quietly if you need some peace!

Delicious refreshments

Tea, coffee, snacks and cakes.

Useful information

We offer a wide range of helpful leaflets on different family issues and we have books you can borrow.

Confidential chats

If you like, you can book an appointment to have a private chat with one of our team, all of whom are DBS checked and have experience of working with children, young people and families. Some of us also have particular expertise and qualifications in dealing with issues like bereavement and loss, anger management, self-esteem etc. We can also signpost you to other good sources of help. You’ll need to book a slot, and they’re available Monday to Thursday 9:30am-4pm.

Creative sessions (free)

Enjoy doing arts and crafts e.g. painting, crochet, paper crafts, jewellery making and more – it’s a great way to relax and meet people. Sessions take place regularly during café opening times.

Canine Cuddles

Having canine cuddles is a great way to destress and keep calm! You can get your share of pet therapy with dogs Rio and Gladstone (part of Therapy Dogs Nationwide) who pop into Number 72 regularly. These sessions are sponsored by Sudbury Rotary Club, to whom we’ve very grateful.

Completing forms and applications

People with mental health challenges or those who struggle with digital devices can find it very hard these days to apply for benefits, help with utilities and bills. We can help complete those forms and make the task much less overwhelming.

And we do a lot of other things besides. If you or someone you know is struggling, we’ll do our best to help, with kindness and compassion.
